The casting feature practically enables you to play shows from your phone, hence, watching them on your big Vizio TV screen.

- In the search field, write “Philo”.
- Download the first result.
- Wait for the app to be installed.
- Either activate the 1-week free trial or log in to your account.
Sadly, Philo is not a free service. You can activate a 1-week free trial whenever you register a new debit or credit card, but afterward, you will be automatically charged $25 per month.

This will activate your Philo account for 1 week. To deactivate your subscription later, go to Settings > Payments & Info > Cancel Payment, before withdrawing anything.
Note: Yes, you can use this method to enjoy Philo for 1 week 100% free.
The next step is to get the smartphone and the Vizio TV connected to the same network.
Later in the Philo app, whenever you attempt the casting, your TV will only be available if it’s connected to the same network as your phone.
In that regard, here’s how to reconnect both your TV and smartphone to the same network:
- Reconnect your Vizio TV – Go to Settings > Network options > Connect Wirelessly and choose your WiFi network from there.
- Reconnect your smartphone – Head to Settings > General > WiFi & Connectivity and connect the phone to the same network as the TV.
Note: Now, both of the devices will become discoverable for each other and are eligible for casting through the Philo application.
Once this is done, all you have to do is to enter Philo’s casting settings and connect with the Vizio TV.
Before that, you must navigate to the casting settings of the Philo application and discover your Vizio TV from the list of available devices.
To enter the Philo application on your phone’s casting settings, all you have to do is go to the home screen and tap the Google Cast icon.
The option is located on the top left of your Philo app’s home screen and will directly send you to the menu, where you can connect with the Philo TV.
Note: It might take up to a minute for your Vizio smart TV to appear on the list.
The last essential step of our guide to begin the smart TV casting is to enable the connection.
In the menu you’ve entered in the previous step, you will be able to view all of the devices that are currently available.
If connected to the same network as your phone, the Vizio smart TV should be among the available options for connecting. All you have to do is press the Philo TV’s connection in the menu you’ve entered.
Your phone will begin casting by itself and will now be shared with the Vizio TV. You will immediately notice that whatever is on your phone’s screen will also appear on your TV.
Now your phone is casting-screen to the Vizio TV and the content you play on the phone will be broadcasted on the TV.
Remember that you’re controlling the Vizio TV through your phone, thus, you can’t use the Vizio TV remote.
You will have to turn on the shows and movies you wish to watch in Philo only through the phone and the remote will serve you only for controlling the volume of the Vizio TV.
Now, play something on Philo to determine if the casting was successful and the TV is being shared with the phone.
Thus, to cast Philo on your Vizio smart TV, you would need the Philo application installed on your smartphone. Then login to the application and connect both your phone and Vizio TV to the same WiFi.
