Before we get into this particular topic further, let us first understand how Spotify works with your Alexa-enabled device.

How Does Spotify Work with Alexa?

Wouldn’t it be cool to use voice command for your speaker to play the music you want to hear?

That’s the whole point of why the vast majority of Alexa-enabled users link their Spotify accounts to Alexa.

But how exactly does this work? The answer is quite simple, and it lies in the settings on the music-streaming app.

All you have to do is to link your Amazon Alexa account to your Spotify account!

When they’re linked, you can easily tell your virtual assistant to play whatever songs available! Furthermore, you can also have her play songs in a specific playlist!

To do this, download the Alexa app or access its website. If you don’t have an account yet, registering or signing up is easy, just click on the CREATE A NEW AMAZON ACCOUNT button under the note that says, “New to Amazon?”

Once you’re logged in, go Settings > Music. Choose Spotify from the list, and then hit on the option that says Link Account to Alexa.

You’ll be asked to log into your Spotify account, so do so.

The next thing you want to do is to make Spotify the default Music App. You can do this by:

  • Go to Settings and then Music
  • Proceed to Default Music Services
  • Then, choose Spotify and finalize it by clicking DONE

A lot of people don’t believe it’s true, but it actually works. As a written rule, though, one Alexa account is only able to accommodate one (1) Spotify account.

Therefore, it’s not possible to link and connect multiple accounts in one Alexa account.

However, if you would create multiple Alexa accounts, one Echo can cater to multiple profiles!

The workaround to this is to create an Amazon account for each Spotify profile there is!

They’ll receive a confirmation of the profile creation through their email addresses.
