If Bush TV has sound but no picture, the main reasons include – issues with your TV’s external cable connections, power source, backlight strips, or internal components. To diagnose the issue, perform a power reset, wiring, and hardware inspection.
Let’s quickly move forward to start troubleshooting!
Bush TV Sound But No Picture How to Fix? 7 Easy Solutions!
Note: It is crucial to implement each step consecutively!
1. Power Reset Your Bush TV
The first step is to reset your Bush TV for at least 15 minutes as a soft reset.
This is an excellent way to refresh the system and discharge the residual power from the TV’s backlight strips and other internal components that may be causing the display problems.
Here is the way to power reset your Bush TV:
- Turn off the TV with the remote control.
- Unplug the power cord from the socket.
- Locate the Power Button from the back.
- Press and hold the TV’s power button.
- Keep holding the button for 15 seconds.
- Release the button and wait 15 minutes.
When your Bush TV has cooled down, connect the power adapter directly to the power outlet to prevent any power fluctuations from external connectors.
Then turn on the Bush TV to check if the picture will reappear, and in case not, continue reading ahead…
2. Check the HDMI Connections!
If your TV has a faulty connection with the HDMI cable, this may cause a significant dropout of signal, which may be why your TV has no picture.
So, inspect the HDMI cable connection to your TV and the external source device to verify whether the issue is not from the video transfer.
Here are some possibilities for a faulty HDMI connection:
- Faulty or defective HDMI cable
- Damaged HDMI port on the TV
- Video source device’s problem
- Worn-out HDMI Bush TV’s port
How to Inspect the TV HDMI Connection?
- Turn off and unplug your Bush TV.
- Rotate the TV to access its back side.
- Then, simply unplug the HDMI cable.
- Inspect the entire length of the cable.
- Clean both HDMI connectors and ports.
- Tightly connect the HDMI cable back.
Tip: If you have a different HDMI cable at home, test your Bush TV and source!
3. Remove All External Connections
There is a chance the problem is somewhere with your TV’s external connections, which is why the Bush TV picture is missing.
Simply remove all cable connections from your Bush TV so your device only has a power cable connected to the outlet.
- Unplug all HDMI, RCA, AUX, 3.5mm Jack, Component or other cables!
Then, test your Bush TV raw picture without any video devices by streaming channels or apps locally installed on the Bush TV.
If you still can’t see any on-screen menu and pictures, plug your HDMI cable into a different TV port and then switch the input source from the TV menu.
Workaround: If possible, try using the same HDMI cable and source device with a different TV!
4. Test the Bush TV Power Supply!
Sometimes, when your Bush TV isn’t correctly functioning as it should, it could be due to a fault within your TV power supply.
The TV requires consistent A/C to turn on and function properly, so check your TV power socket and ensure it supplies enough power to your Bush TV.
Note: If you use a surge protector or smart plug to power your TV, ensure it is not faulty!
Here is how to inspect and test your Bush TV’s electrical socket:
- Disconnect your Bush TV from the power outlet.
- Unplug any surge protectors or extension cords.
- Plug in another device, such as a charger or a lamp.
- Test whether the newly connected device is working.
If your TV still has no picture with a black screen, try plugging your TV into a different outlet in a different room using an extension cable.
If doing this resolves your problem, this means the previous socket was faulty, or the fuse from the primary circuit for this particular room is blown.
Reminder: Make sure the HDMI connection on your devices is secure and tightly plugged!
5. Test the TV Fuse for Continuity
A fuse on your TV power supply board protects your device from power surges.
Sometimes, the fuse blows due to a sudden change in the power supply, eventually affecting the device features such as the display and, in some cases, even preventing the TV from turning on.
If you have waited long enough, but your Bush TV still displays no picture, we recommend you test your TV fuse for continuity.
If you don’t know how to go about it, here are simple steps:
- First, power off and unplug your Bush TV from the wall.
- Lay down your Bush TV with the screen facing downward.
- Unscrew the backside of your TV and remove the panel.
- Then, locate and get access to the power supply board.
- Next, you must find the small fuse in a glass tube shape.
- Check the fuse for any visible damage or discoloration.
- Then, test your TV fuse for Continuity using a Multimeter.
- To test the fuse, connect the probes on each end of the fuse.
When you’re ready, check out the fuse continuity results:
- If your multimeter shows continuity, your TV fuse is functional.
- If your multimeter shows no continuity, you must replace the fuse.
After you are done, reassemble the panel of your Bush TV and double-check the HDMI and other cable connections.
Then, plug your TV directly into the working wall socket and check whether your TV has both sound and picture.
6. Inspect your TV’s Circuit Boards!
When Bush TV has no sound but a picture issue appears, it’s possible that any internal boards are faulty or wire connectors are fully covered in grime or dust.
In such cases, the TV might lose essential functionality such as its picture, and audio and, sometimes, the machine won’t even be able to turn on.
Solution: Dissemble your TV and inspect and test the circuit boards for continuity!
Here are the simple steps to inspect your TV’s internal circuits:
Step #1 Dissemble Your Bush TV
- First, power off and unplug the Bush TV from the outlet.
- Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
- Wait for about 3 minutes until your TV fully discharges.
- Then, lay your TV face down on a steady and large table.
- Make sure to ground yourself to avoid the chances of risks.
- Then, unscrew the screws of your Bush TV’s back panel.
- Next, carefully access the front and back panel of your TV.
- Then, carefully inspect the circuit boards in your Bush TV.
Step #2 Inspect the TV Circuit Boards
- First, look for the T-con board in the shape of ribbon cables.
- Carefully push the locking cover down to unlock the cables.
- Then, disconnect and remove the LVDS cables from the board.
- Clean the wiring with compressed air or a non-static brush.
- Inspect the connectors in the board for damage or corrosion.
- If the connectors are dull or rough, you need to replace them!
After you are done, reconnect the LVDs cable back to the T-con board to the main board and reassemble the panels. Turn on your TV and check to see if the picture is coming.
Tip: If your Bush TV is not turning on, you should disassemble your TV back panel and test your TV’s power and main board for continuity.
7. Check for Any Backlight Problems!
If everything is in working condition, but your TV displays no picture, it could be due to faulty backlight strips on the power board.
This is normal in lower-end TV models because internal components start losing their functionality over time and must be replaced.
Here is the way to test backlight strips on your TV:
- First, power off and unplug your Bush TV.
- Hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
- Leave the Bush TV unplugged for 3 minutes.
- Lay down the TV on a flat surface, face-down.
- Then, undo the screws of the back TV panel.
- Eject all the circuit boards on the back panel.
- Undo the screws of the front panel of your TV.
- Remove the LCD and find the backlight strips.
Finally, test the backlight strips via Voltmeter:
- If the strips show voltage continuity, it means they are operational.
- If the strips don’t show any continuity, your Bush TV is for service.
Tip: To get your Bush TV professionally repaired check your warranty and contact Bush Support.
Quick Recap:
Whenever Bush TV sound but no picture issue occurs, power reset the TV, and unplug and reconnect the HDMI or other video-transfer inputs.
In case the issue persists, you must check whether the TV fuse is blown and inspect the circuit boards for continuity!
