When your Sengled wifi bulb won’t pair and or isn’t working, this could be due to a few reasons, let’s explore what they could be:
- Trouble connecting to the Hub or bulbs.
- It’s taking a long time for lights to respond.
- The bulb needs to be replaced.
- Your internet connection is either too slow or too inconsistent.
Regardless of the reason why the Sengled bulb is not working, we will go through some troubleshooting steps to get everything back up and running. Please keep reading to find out how to do this.
This section will walk you through the installation of the Sengled Home app and bulb, which will allow you to control your Sengled smart bulb.
To install the bulb, just follow these steps:
- Switch off the light fitting or light where the smart bulb will be connected.
- Take out your old light bulb.
- Screw in your new Sengled bulb with care.
- Now turn on your light
- You can configure the light when the light flashes twice.
Now connect the bulb using the SmartThings app. Follow these steps:
- Touch the Plus (+) icon on the Home screen and select Device.
- Touch Lighting after selecting Sengled.
- Start by pressing the Start button.
- For the device, select a Hub.
- Touch Next after selecting a Room for the gadget.
- Install the light and turn it on while the Hub searches.
Sengled Bulb Not Pairing? Complete Fix Methods
Method 1: Check to see if your WiFi connection is up and running
The link the receiver (the technology) has to the sender is one of the most typical concerns with an unresponsive piece of technology (often your phone, a remote, or smart hub).
- Using an Ethernet wire, connect your computer to your router.
- To begin, open your web browser.
- Go to a speed testing website
- Press the Go button.
Note: You can use a smartphone to test your internet speed as well.
Method 2: Using the SmartThings app, enable Inclusion Mode on the hub.
If your smart bulb isn’t connecting to your hub, it’s most likely due to a failed bulb association (also known as an inclusion).
To connect the bulb to your hub, you’ll need to enable inclusion mode. However, it is possible that the bulb will need to be reset.
- Open the SmartThings app on your phone.
- Tap the Location drop-down menu to navigate to the location where you’d like to add the bulb.
- After that, tap Device and then Add (the plus sign).
- Then, tap SmartThings and then By brand.
- To enable inclusion mode on your hub, go to Lighting, then Smart Bulb.
Method 3: Restart Your Smart Bulb
In most circumstances, simply restarting the smart light is sufficient enough to bring it back online and operational.
Note: Even if the problem appears to be too simple to fix, it is crucial that you do not reject or skip this first step.
- Turn off your smart bulb’s power. (This could mean flicking the switch).
- Turn off your smart gadget that controls the Sengled smart bulb.
- Wait 30 seconds before continuing.
- Reconnect your smart gadget and turn the light back on.
- Reconnect the device to your hub after 30 seconds.
- Restart your app and try to access your smart device.
Method 4: Reset your Smart Device Network
Many difficulties with your Sengled Smart bulb can be resolved by restarting your home network and devices.
- Turn off any Sengled smart bulbs that aren’t working properly.
- Disconnect your hub, your modem, and your router.
- Wait 30 seconds and then connect your router and modem.
- Allow 60 seconds for your home network to re-establish itself.
- If you have a Hub, connect it.
- Turn on the smart lights and wait 60 seconds to reconnect the hub and smart bulb.
- Restart the smart device control.
Note: It’s crucial to wait a few moments so your equipment doesn’t get damaged and has enough time to discharge any residual power and turn it off completely.
Method 5: Try to Re-pair the Sengled Bulb that’s out of Pairing Mode
Your Sengled bulb not pairing issue could be due to element bulbs that have lost their pairing mode and they must be placed on a regular ON/OFF toggle switch, such as a bathroom fixture or a power strip, to be paired again.
Note: A lamp with a rotating switch will not operate.
Step #1. The bulb must then be switched on and off AT LEAST TEN TIMES, very quickly, with the ON position being the last. A cycle of on and off counts as one.
- On/Off = 1 time
- On/Off 2 = 2 times.
- On/Off 3 = 3 times
The bulb will blink five times if everything is done successfully, and it will then be in pairing mode.
Step #2. Please turn off the bulbs once they have flashed to keep the pairing mode.
Step #3. You’ll have to try again if the bulb doesn’t flash.
Step #4. Do not switch the lamps back on until your app instructs you to.
Method 6: Specifying the Names of The Sengled Bulbs
Naming conflicts are widespread in technology, and they can cause problems with where the signal should travel.
If you have many Sengled bulbs in a room, for example, you might name them all “Light Bulb – Bedroom” so you know where they are.
The problem is that without a central control for all of the “Bedroom” bulbs, the signal is unsure which one to turn on, therefore it doesn’t turn on any of them.
Assemble all of your light bulbs into a centralized system, such as a hub, to control an entire area at once. Make certain that each one has a distinct name.
