How To Fix When App Searching For Base Station Owlet?

Solution #1 Restart The Owlet Application
The first and most basic thing to start with is to reopen the Owlet application and restart your mobile device.
This will remove the Owlet application from the device’s memory and solve any temporary bugs there are, possibly solving the “connecting” issue.
How To Close Owlet The App Properly?
- Press the home button on your smartphone device.
- Hold the home button or memory button for 5 seconds.
- Slide left or right for the Owlet app connection to be removed.
How To Restart Mobile Device?
- Once the Owlet app is removed from memory, it’s time to shut down your phone.
- Press and hold the power button of your mobile smartphone.
- Let go of the power button once the power menu appears.
- Slide the restart slider.
- Wait for your phone to be restarted.
Note: Re-open the Owlet app and test only when your phone has fully loaded.
Solution #2 Hard Reset Base Station
Your Owlet may be glitched on connecting because it fails to connect with the base station.
That would occur, whenever the station device is unable to connect to the internet.
One of the things you should do in a situation like that is to hard reset your base station.
Here’s how to hard reset your Owlet base station in an easy way:
- Locate where your station’s power adapter goes into.
- Disconnect the adapter of the station device.
- Standby for 5 minutes while the base station is completely disconnected.
- Once the time has elapsed, re-attach the adapter to the power source.
- Start the base station using the power button.
- Wait for the device to boot.
- Re-attempt the connection sequence.
Note: Re-attempt connecting the base station through your Owlet app only when the LED is already lit.
Solution #3 Move Closer To The Station
Users often get this issue when they are not standing close enough to the base station.
See, your Owlet app is used to connect the base station directly with the WiFi.
If you’re sitting with the phone in your hand at a long distance from the base station, (especially during setup), you will notice that the app will keep saying “connecting”.
The recommended distance that you should stand from your base station during the setup would fall somewhere between 3 and 5 meters.
In other words, you must be in the same room as the base station for the setup process to work and get your base station connected.
Alert: Ensure no solid objects or walls are between you, your phone, and the base station during the setup.
Solution #4 Connect To A 2.4GHz Network

As you probably know, the Owlet base station doesn’t support WiFi of a 5GHz strength and you’re prompted to use a 2.4GHz broadband to connect your base station and Owlet device.
Here’s how to create a 2.4GHz WiFi thread on your network if you haven’t got one yet.
How To Create 2.4GHz WiFi On My Network?
- On your computer or laptop, open the CMD (must be Windows).
- Write “ipconfig” in the CMD and press Enter.
- Copy the default gateway from the results.
- Paste it into your web browser engine.
- Write down “admin” for username and “admin” for a password to log into your router.
- Go to the Network tab.
- Press “Create Network”.
- Set the name, GHz, and password for the network.
- Confirm the changes and wait for your router to restart.
Note: It may take a minute for the new network to appear in your WiFi list on the Owlet app.
Solution #5 Correct WiFi Password
The Owlet app may sometimes emit “connecting” if you’ve entered an incorrect WiFi password for the network you’re pairing to.
If you haven’t changed the password after the technicians have installed the router, you can find it on a sticker on the bottom of your router.
If you’ve changed the password, however, you must recall the correct letter or number order (along with caps) that the password is written.
If you don’t know your password, your ISP will definitely be able to help remotely, only after ownership identification.
