Both methods share a common factor which is that you need to create a WiZ skill in the Alexa app so you can actually connect both devices.
To hook up your WiZ lights with Alexa begin with downloading both applications on your smartphone (WiZ app and Alexa app). Proceed with opening the WiZ application and linking your accounts from the Integration page. Then use the Alexa app to select and configure your WiZ lights.
Now that the general method is unveiled, let’s proceed with a step-by-step tutorial to help you get them connected in no time!
How To Connect WiZ Lights To Alexa?
As we’ve mentioned in the introduction there are two methods you can use. The first approach would be by linking both applications and establishing the connection.
The second way would be to manually integrate the WiZ skill into your Alexa app and get both devices hooked up.
There is a preparation that you need to undertake before starting with the methods.
Preparation
Regardless of whether you’re using an iOS or Android device, you would need to download both applications (Amazon Alexa app and Phillips WiZ app).
Open the dedicated application store on your device and install both applications beforehand.
When ready, let’s start with the easier method, which is by linking both applications.
Method #1 Link WiZ & Alexa Applications
Since the applications are different for iPhones and Android smartphones, we’ll provide you with a separate guide for both platforms. Let’s start with iOS.
Note: Sign in to your account in the Alexa application before you start!

For iOS devices, follow the steps below:
- Open the WiZ application.
- Go to the Settings page.
- Go down to Integration and select it.
- Choose Amazon Alexa.
- Press on Link My Account.
- Log in to your Amazon Alexa account.
- On the Account Linked page, click Finish.
The integration should now be complete. To finalize and establish the connection between both devices, jump down to the after account link guide.

- Slide-out the side menu.
- Go to the Home Settings.
- Scroll down to locate the Integration settings.
- Choose Integration and press on Amazon Alexa.

That should be enough to link your accounts. Proceed with the guide below to finalize and establish the connection between the WiZ lights and Alexa.
After Accounts Are Linked:
Once the Philips and Amazon accounts are linked, the information about your devices will be exchanged and you should now be able to manage and operate.
Follow the steps below to configure your WiZ lights within the Alexa app:
- Open the Amazon Alexa application.
- Navigate to the Home Screen.
- Tap on Smart Home.
- Choose Discover Devices.
- Wait for your ALL WiZ devices to be discovered.
Once the list is discovered, you will be seeing a group’s names and the individual WiZ device’s names that are not previously grouped.
Choose your WiZ lights to start managing and operating their functionality. You should now be able to control the WiZ lights via the Alexa voice input.
Method #2 Manually Connect WiZ & Alexa
In case you’re unable to link your WiZ and Alexa accounts via automatic integration, there is an alternative method to do it manually.
Even though it requires a few more steps, it would definitely get both platforms connected and ready to be worked with. Once again, guides are separated for both Apple and Android users:
For iOS:
If you’re using an iOS operated device, follow the steps below:
- Open the WiZ mobile application.
- Navigate to the Settings.
- Locate Integration and select it.
- Choose Amazon Alexa.
- Press on “Set Up Integration Manually”.
- Use the toggle button to enable the Wiz Smart Home Skill.
- Copy the Key Code that will appear.
- Jump to the Alexa Application and follow the next step.
For Android:
The menus in the Android WiZ application are slightly different so here is the guide:
- Open the mobile WiZ Application.
- Reach the side menu.
- Navigate to the Home Settings.
- Scroll down to find the Integration settings.
- Choose Integration and press on Amazon Alexa.
- Select “Set Up Integration Manually”.
- Enable the Wiz Smart Home Skill, by toggling the button.
- Copy the Connection Key Code that will appear on the screen.
Once you’ve got the key code that you would need, proceed with the next part to get both applications connected.
Use The Key Code
Now that you’ve got the required code for the manual integration it’s time to use it so you can connect both applications. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Open the Amazon Alexa application.
- Navigate to the Menu.
- Press on the Skills & Games option.
- Use the Search Bar to look for “WiZ”.
- Select and Enable the WiZ Skill.
- Make sure to choose the “Enable to Use”.
- Insert the Key Code you’ve acquired from the previous step.
- Confirm the prompt and approve the on-screen message.
- Close the tab by pressing the “X” icon on the top left.
Note: The security code works only for a few minutes. In case the integration fails, repeat the entire step, but as fast as possible.
After The Manual Connection:
Now after the key code has been approved, the Philips WiZ account and Alexa account will be linked providing you with access to operate both devices.
Follow the steps below to finalize the procedure:
- Open the Alexa mobile application.
- Choose Smart Home and select Discover Devices.
- Await the list of ALL WiZ devices in your home to appear.
- Choose your WiZ lights to operate and manage them.
Note: Be aware that if you’re using a Desktop computer to execute any part of this guide, you need to enable the pop-ups for Chrome and Safari browsers.
The way to connect WiZ Lights to Alexa is possible by first linking your Philips WiZ and Amazon Alexa accounts together. To do so open the WiZ application, go to the Settings, choose Integration and then select Amazon Alexa. Once ready, discover your WiZ Lights in the Alexa app to manage them and enable the connection.
