Frigidaire Dishwasher Not Spraying Water – Fixed
It’s possible that the water supply components are clogged and prevent your dishwasher from adequately spraying water over the utensils.
But if you employ every method in the guide, you may quickly learn how to resolve this issue without using any complex procedures.
Let’s get in!
Try This First!
Perhaps your dishwasher is overloaded with dishes, which prevents the machine from functioning well, and in turn, the water is not spraying.
It is now simply a matter of taking out one-fourth of the dishes from the unit and rearranging them.
Then run a wash cycle to see whether the water will now spray!
Move forward to the following solutions in case the dishwasher is not spraying water!
Solution #1 Unclog Dishwasher Pump Filter!
One of the reasons why the dishwasher can’t spray water is Clogged Pump Filters!
The pump filter is capable of directing soapy water to the spray arm for dishwashing.
When the filter is blocked by debris, it prevents the water from spraying.
The only thing left to do is to thoroughly clean the dishwasher pump filter so let’s learn how it’s done!
- Turn OFF your Frigidaire Dishwasher Power and Water Supply.
- Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower rack.
- Grab the lower spray and pull to remove it.
- Next, rotate the filter counterclockwise.
- Pull the unit out of the machine.
- Wash the filter and panel under warm water.
- Apply some soap and clean the filter using an old toothbrush.
- Rinse the filter and place everything back in its place.
When the pump filter is supposedly unclogged now, run a wash cycle to determine whether that was enough to solve the problem.
In case the issue continues, keep reading the guide further!
Tip: Make sure to clean the pump filter at least twice a week!
Solution #2 Unblock The Spray Arms
Using spray arms, all the water can be sprayed, but over time, they become clogged with debris, and a buildup layer forms in the arms hole.
This way, the water cannot be sprayed evenly and all you need to do is to properly unclog the dishwasher spray arms!
Here is how you can unblock your dishwasher spray arms:
- Make sure the power is turned OFF.
- Open the door and remove all racks from the unit.
- Then remove the top, center, and bottom spray arms properly by rotating them up.
- Wash the spray arms under warm water and scrub them using a brush.
- Next, soak the spray arms in White Vinegar water for 5 minutes.
- Then take a toothpick and clean the arms hole evenly one by one.
- Rinse the arms to clear out all the accumulated dirt.
- Properly fix the spray arms back to their place.
Install back the racks and only a few utensils to run a wash cycle and test the spraying water!
Note: Replace your dishwasher spray arms if they are broken!
Solution #3 Check Dishwasher Water Supply
When the water supply, temperature, and pressure are all optimal, Frigidaire dishwashers can operate efficiently.
There is a possibility that your dishwasher won’t be able to spray water because the water pressure is low or the water temperature isn’t compatible with the machine!
Here are some of the things that you need to ensure are working properly;

- Clean the dishwasher hose if possible. (optional)
- Your home water has to have a pressure between 40 – 60 psi.
- Test your dishwasher heating element to make sure that it is working properly.
- Ensure that the hose and water valve are not clogged or damaged.
Tip: Use your dishwasher manual guide to get access to the dishwasher hose, and heating element.
Solution #4 Configure Chopper Blade
In addition to the spray arms, there is a Chopper Blade that aids the arms in spraying water by breaking food into tiny pieces that are easily passable.
However, occasionally the blade may begin to jam or become clogged, which is why Frigidaire dishwasher water not spraying.
As a result, the wash pump will stop instantly and won’t be able to spray water.

- Open the door and remove all your dish racks.
- Remove the bottom spray arms by rotating it clockwise and its bearing cap.
- Remove the manifold by de-attaching the clips.
- Once all clips are released, then turn the manifold clockwise and pull it out.
- Take a Torx driver and unscrew the lower base and then carefully pull it up.
- Unscrew the Chopper Assembly and release it by using a flat-blade screwdriver.
- Remove the Assembly Cap and pull out the blade by using a needle-nose plier.
- Unclog the blade or replace it if you notice any damage.
- Reassemble all components back and screw them tightly.
You can now run a test cycle to determine whether the water will start spraying!
Solution #5 Replace The Float Switch!
In order to keep the unit from overloading, the float switch is in control of monitoring.
There is a chance that your dishwasher’s float is damaged, thus incorrectly presuming that the tank is full of water even if it is not.
As a response, it might have turned off the switch and prevented the unit from holding enough water. The only thing you have to do is to inspect the float switch.
Here is how you can test your dishwasher’s float switch:
- Stop the Water and unplug the machine from the Power Outlet.
- Open the dishwasher door and unscrew the outdoor panel screws.
- Close the door and pull out the outer panel and place it aside.
- Next, unscrew the lower access panel and then remove its bracket.
- Disconnect the Float Switch from the tank.
- Remove the connected wires from the switch.
- First, test the switch with a multimeter by connecting probes to its chip.
- If the switch is bad, replace it right away.
- Then reassemble the components by screwing them tightly.

Here is how you can check your dishwasher’s inlet valve:
- Open the dishwasher door and remove the unit mounting screws.
- Unscrew the dishwasher’s Lower Access Panel.
- Next, unscrew the Junction Box and pull out its cover.
