1. Connect to a 2.4GHz Frequency

Whilst 5GHz WiFi could offer greater internet speeds, the regular 2.4GHz frequency has a larger range and is more prone to interference.

Thus, when using the slower but more reliable and consistent 2.4 GHz frequently, your LG TV shouldn’t randomly disconnect.

How to Check if I Have 2.4Ghz Frequency?

The 2.4GHz WiFi is the standard thread for all Wi-Fi routers. Only dual-band network devices can host up to 2 networks, including a 2.4 GHz thread and a 5 GHz thread.

You should be able to check your router’s available networks at Router GUI > Networks > “Threads” or “WiFi”.

How to Connect LG TV to a 2.4GHz WiFi:

1. Press the “SMART” button on your LG remote.
2. Scroll down and access the Home menu.
3. Select the “Settings” button, then press “OK”.
4. Choose “Network” then “WiFi Connection”.

2. Deactivate “Quick Start+” On LG TV

Though the “Quick Start+” feature may help with launching your TV faster, it could cause interference with the TV.

LG televisions are set to automatically connect with a WiFi network upon turning on, but “Quick Start+” may deactivate WiFi whilst the TV is in standby mode.

Here’s how to turn off “Quick Start+” on your LG TV:

1. Press the Settings (cog icon) button on your remote.
2. Scroll down in the tab and navigate to “All Settings”.
3. Press on “General” once you reach the page.

Info: By default, the login credentials are “admin” for both username and password!

How to Access Router GUI:

1. Insert “http://192.168.100.1/” into your online browser.
2. Test logging in with admin/admin or admin/password.
3. In case you can’t log in, use the password on the sticker.
4. Access the “Advanced” > Wireless Settings of the router.
5. Locate and select the 2.4 GHz wireless network thread.
6. Select Change WiFi Channel and switch to another channel.

Feel free to test with multiple WiFi channels until your LG TV stops disconnecting.

In addition, there are “WiFi Analyzer” apps in the Google Play or App Store that allow checking how crowded the different WiFi channels are when your phone is connected to your router.

Note: Your router doesn’t need to be restarted to apply the change of the WiFi channel.

6. Restore Initial Settings On LG TV!
