Method #1: WiFi Adapter+Magic Home

LED lights can usually be controlled via infrared commands.

But buying a WiFi adapter will allow you to connect your illumination system to your network and control from a larger distance.

Infrared control is limited to 20 meters or so, while WiFi doesn’t have such restrictions.

So, the first thing you should do is buy a Smart WiFi LED Controller.

Installing it is simple:

1. Connect it to a power source
2. Connect the other end to your LED lights

After you installed the hardware, it is time you download the app:

1. Turn the LED system on to power your WiFi adapter
2. Scan the QR code on the adapter
3. Download the app Magic Home

Add the Device

With the app installed, you can now add your LED lights to it:

1. Open the app
2. Click the + at the right upper corner
3. Select Add Device

Method #2: Lepro LampUX

The app is available for both iOS and Android. So, the first step is downloading the LampUX app on your phone. 

LampUX lets you connect via two methods: EZ mode and AP mode. That means connecting the system to your router or using your phone as an access point.

EZ Mode

Here is how to set up the LampUX app in EZ mode:

1. Turn on the LED strips and leave them be for 10 seconds
2. Hold down the control’s power button for at least five seconds
3. The lights will blink twice faster than normal.
4. Sign up/login
5. Click the + button
6. Select the strip lights you want to add
7. Click “Confirm indicator rapidly blink”
8. Enter the WiFi details.

AP Mode

1. Wait 10 seconds after the LEDs are on
2. Keep the control’s power button down for at least five seconds
3. Long press again

Note: Even though this app is on your phone, it uses infrared and not WiFi! That means you must be close to controlling the lights.

Method #4: Control Via Bluetooth

• If your WiFi is down, the connection is lost
• Infrared only works in close proximity
