Step #1: Ensure You’re on the Correct Input or Source

The first thing you want to make sure of is that you are tuned into the correct source/input on your TV.

In most televisions, a blank screen signifies that there is no signal in that particular channel or source.

So, make sure that you’re tuned into the usual and regular TV programming and you’re not tuned into HDMI, composite, or even VGA.

NOTE: If you’re using an external device like a streaming player or a DVD, check its internal settings.

Step #2: Check All Cable and TV Connections

When you’re certain that you’re on the correct input, the next thing you want to do is to double-check the television’s connections.

Connections are the cables and the wires that are plugged into the television, you want to make sure that they’re all stable.

Here’s a simple exercise you can do to be assured that your cables and wires are plugged in properly:

1. Turn off and unplug your television from power.
2. Unplug and replug the power cord.
3. Do the same thing with its connection to the antenna or cable box.
4. Plug your television back in and turn it on.

6. Reassemble the TV

After replacing the backlight, reassemble everything by screwing the panels as well as covering the television back up again.
