If you don’t know how to cancel Arlo subscription then this is the ultimate guide for you!
Here we’ll discuss everything about canceling your Arlo subscription, what will be lost and whether you can change an active plan or not.
It’s important to be aware of some factors before proceeding to deactivate your subscription so let’s learn more!
To cancel your Arlo subscription you’ll need an Android device. From there you can either use the application or go to the official Arlo website and navigate to the subscription pages. The last step is to choose and deactivate the plan you want to be stopped.
Can You Cancel Arlo Subscription?
Before canceling your Arlo subscription, there are a few things you should be aware of.
You can, in fact by yourself, cancel an Arlo subscription. Unlike other services, Arlo employees and representatives cannot cancel your subscription.
You are the only one who can manage, upgrade or stop your Arlo subscription!
After Canceling Arlo?
There are a few consequences in regard to recordings and refunds after Arlo’s cancellation:
- All of your cloud recordings (made and stored by Arlo devices) will be deleted.
- When you cancel a legacy plan, you can’t re-subscribe for it again.
- A prorated refund is automatically credited when you cancel your plan prior to the expiration date.
Tip: Before you proceed to cancel the subscription, make sure that you’ve saved any cloud recordings that you want to keep because all of them will be erased.
How to Cancel Arlo Subscription?
Now you know that it is possible for you to cancel your Arlo subscription, let’s get things going.
Note that canceling your Arlo subscription is going to stop your recording service and your system will be no longer active.
Alert: You cannot perform changes to the Arlo subscription through an Apple (iOS) device.
Here’s how to cancel your Arlo subscription in easy steps and instructions:
Step #1 Go to Arlo.com & Login
You can cancel your Arlo subscription through two instances. You can either use the Android Arlo application or go to my.arlo.com.
The deed must be done through an Android device as we’ve already mentioned, so having the app on an iOS device isn’t going to help you.
To Access Arlo through the Android app:
- Make sure that you have the app installed on your Android device.
- Launch the app from the device’s home screen.
- Use your credentials to sign in to your Arlo subscription.
To Access Arlo through the Android Website:
- Open the browser on your Android device.
- Make sure that your device is connected to the internet.
- Tap on the search field.
- Write “my.Arlo.com”.
- Press the “Search” button.
- Tap on the first result which is the original Arlo website.
- Use your Arlo account credentials to log in.
Note: Keep in mind that to cancel Arlo, you must be logged in with the account that owns the subscription and has the payment credentials saved.
Step #2 Access Arlo Settings
Once you’ve chosen the source from which you wish to cancel your Arlo subscription, you must first go to the settings.
The settings tab is ultimately the same for both the Arlo application and the Arlo website, so it is easier for you to navigate.
To Access Arlo Settings in the App:
From the home screen, find the “cogwheel” icon, located on the top left of the screen.
To Access Arlo Settings through the Website:
Tap “My Arlo” and login if you haven’t yet. Next, hit the Settings button which should be somewhere at the bottom of the page.
Once you’re in the settings, proceed with the next step to start canceling your subscription:
Note: With older versions of the Arlo app, the cogwheel icon could be somewhere else on the screen.
Step #3 Update Payment Credentials
If you’re canceling Arlo before your subscription has reached its expiry date, you definitely want your payment credentials updated in order to receive some money back.
This feature of Arlo’s policy is great since you can receive a certain cashback, based on how much more time has left of your subscription upon canceling it.
To update Arlo’s payment credentials, follow these instructions:
- In the settings tab, go to “Payment”.
- Select your payment option.
- If it is a debit or credit card, make sure all fields are full with the correct information about your card.
- Save the changes and exit the tab.
Note: Keep in mind that the cashback process may take a while after canceling your subscription. Arlo reports that money should be sent 24 hours after cancellation.
Step #4 Head to “Subscription Settings”
Once you’re in the Arlo settings, you will want to navigate to the subscription settings, in order to manage your active plans and therefore cancel them.
Finding the subscription tab in the settings is relatively easy for both the browser version of Arlo and the application version.
In general, you will want to scroll down a bit in the settings and press the “Subscription” tab.
This will send you to the subscription settings, where you can cancel your Arlo subscription and select which plans you no longer want to be active.
Note: With older Arlo app versions, the subscription settings tab is located at the bottom of the page.
Step #5 Select “Cancel Subscription”
In order to cancel your Arlo’s active subscription plans, you must select the “Cancel Subscription” button, located in the “Subscription” settings of Arlo.
This button will send you to the page where you will be able to select which plans you wish to deactivate.
The “Cancel Subscription” button is located at the bottom of the “Subscription” page.
A single press should send you to the cancellation page!
Remember that if your Arlo subscription has already expired, this button will either be blank, gone, or simply unavailable for interaction.
Note: On the website version, this button will be located at the top of the page rather than at the bottom.
Step #6 Select Plans For Canceling
And the final step to deactivate your Arlo subscription is to select which plans you wish to cancel.
Another feature of Arlo’s policy is the possibility of subscribing to multiple plans through a single Arlo account, at the same time.
On the following page, you will be able to see all available (currently subscribed for) Arlo plans for your account. By pressing them once, you select the plan you wish to cancel.
After choosing the desired plans you want to cancel, press the “Continue” button to proceed with the remaining steps of canceling the subscription.
This will deactivate the active plan.
Note: You can cancel only the subscription plans you want to be deactivated. Keep the ones that you want to continue using.
Can You Change Arlo Subscription?
If you’ve given up on canceling your Arlo subscription, there’s a possibility to manage your subscription rather than removing it or canceling it.
You can change your Arlo plan at any time between the Arlo Smart or CVR plan.
Since there is a possibility for multiple services through a single account, you can add or remove multiple plans.
Here’s how to change your Arlo plan in easy steps:
- Go to the Arlo app or the Arlo website.
- Login using your credentials.
- Go to Settings.
- Access the “Subscription” tab.
- Hit the “Change Plan” button next to the currently active plan.
- Choose the service you want to add or remove.
- Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete payment and finalize.
Note: To change plans, you must also subscribe for the service separately. This will add the newly added subscription among the others.
Quick Recap:
Thus, to cancel an Arlo subscription you need to use an Android operating system to access the mobile application or the official Arlo website. Then, from the Subscription page, you can choose a plan and hit the “Cancel Subscription” button to deactivate it.

Now that we’ve learned how to cancel Arlo subscription, you no longer have to pay for services that you don’t actually need.
Keep in mind that the support team won’t be able to help you with canceling the subscription on their side but they might be able to guide you on how to perform the operation yourself.
