The first thing you should make sure of is that the Sengled service through the Amazon Alexa app is enabled.

By enabling this skill, you will make your Alexa look & scan for Sengled devices of any type, including your currently not connecting bulb.

Here’s how to get the Sengled skill within your Amazon Alexa app:

  1. Hop into the Amazon Alexa app on your mobile smartphone.
  2. Head to the “Skills & Games” tab from the bottom menu.
  3. Use the search field to type “Sengled” and search for the skill.
  4. Select the skill and go to “Sengled Home”.
  5. Locate the button that enables the Sengled skill from the menu.
  6. Enter your Sengled e-address along with the password.
  7. Choose “Sign-in” and wait for the verification.
  8. Try to scan and search for your Sengled bulb.
Note: It’s important to be logged in, otherwise the connection won’t work.

Solution #2 Restart the Bulb

Restarting your Sengled bulb will help against the wireless scanning problem.

If the device has become inactive or suddenly stopped working due to a power throttle, restarting the bulb should get the device discoverable for the Amazon Alexa application.

Follow these instructions to get your Sengled bulb restarted correctly:

  1. Go to the light switch that controls the power of the Sengled bulb.
  2. Ensure that your bulb is powered.
  3. Press the light switch and keep it off for 60 seconds.
  4. Press the light switch again to power your bulb.
  5. Check if Amazon Alexa will now recognize and connect.
Alert: Make sure that you keep your bulb close to the Alexa speaker or the recognition process will still not go through.

Solution #3 Use Another Light Slot

Plenty of users reported that screwing the bulb into an alternative light slot may actually resolve this problem.

This is the greatest fix for issues with your bulb’s power so you should attempt it to check if this will resolve the issue.

Here’s how to reinstall your Sengled bulb into an alternative light slot easily:

  1. Reach the bulb and its position.
  2. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise to take it off the socket.
  3. Once it is disengaged from the light slot, find a replacement slot.
  4. Screw the bulb into the new light slot.
  5. Re-open the Amazon Alexa app and check if the scan would now go through.
Note: Make sure to securely attach your Sengled bulb to the new light switch or it will still not get power and connect with the Alexa.

Solution #4 Update the Alexa App
