Here is how to Ask Alexa by saying one of the commands:

  • “Alexa, what did I miss?”
  • “Alexa, delete all of my notifications”
  • “Alexa read me my notifications.”
  • “Alexa, what are my notifications?”

When you pronounce one of these commands to your Alexa Voice Assistant, it will read the alert, respond to you, and clear all notifications from your devices.

2. Adjust the Notifications Settings

4. Reboot Your Ecobee Thermostat

Sometimes the Ecobee thermostat acts strangely and performs unexpected functions due to bugs or glitches.

If the green light is still blinking on your thermostat then try to reboot your unit to clear all temporary issues from the devices.

Here is how to reboot the Ecoobe thermostat:

  1. Unplug your unit from the outlet.
  2. Wait for at least 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Plug your unit back into the outlet.
  4. Tip: Verify direct outlet connection.

Within a few minutes, your Ecobee thermostat will turn on and reconnect to the internet. The green light should no longer be blinking unless Alexa manages to send a notification alert.

5. Check Ecobee Internet Connection

Even if you are sure that Alexa hasn’t sent you any notification alerts but your Ecobee is still blinking green then you might have a connection problem.

In order for the green light to go away, your Alexa must clear the notification first, and your thermostat must then learn about it.

Hence, no internet connection equals, a persistent notification light on your Ecobee!

Here’s how to test the WiFi connection on Ecobee thermostat:

  1. Go to your Ecobee thermostat.
  2. Click on the Main Menu option.
  3. Find and enter the Settings menu.
  4. Tap on the WiFi to open the page.
  5. Check the Results:

✅ If your Ecobee is connected to WiFi, you’ll see the WiFi SSID under “Network”.

✅ If your Ecobee is not connected to WiFi, press “Add Network” to set up WiFi.

Then, continue following the next on-screen instructions and enter the correct WiFi password to connect your thermostat to WiFi.

When your thermostat connects to WiFi, the green light might not go away immediately, so ask Alexa to delete or narrate your notifications to clear them. 

Note: The thermostat will connect to an “empty WiFi”, but whenever there is an issue with the internet stream, your Ecobee will clear the notifications.

6. Disable Alexa From Ecobee

If nothing works and your thermostat is still blinking green light then test disabling your Alexa from the Ecobee to cut off the connection.

This step is not ideal because you will lose control over your thermostat if you use only Alexa to trigger commands. However, you can easily pair Alexa back anytime, so it’s nothing to worry about!

Here is how to disable the Alexa from Ecobee thermostat:

  1. First, open the Ecobee App.
  2. Select your thermostat unit.
  3. Select the Microphone icon.
  4. Press on the Unlink Alexa.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts.

  3. Then, tap on the Settings icon.
  4. Enter the “Amazon Alexa” tab. 
  5. Tip: It’s found under Integration.
  6. Choose the Unlink Alexa option.
Note: If you later want to relink your Amazon Alexa device with your Ecobee thermostat, then you can follow the same process.

7. Factory Reset the Ecobee Thermostat

If the green light is continuously blinking even after trying every step then as a last resort test by performing a factory reset on your thermostat.

This step will permanently delete everything in the thermostat’s application settings, schedules, and all other user customization stuff. 

Here is how to factory reset the Ecobee thermostat:

  1. Head over to your Ecobee.
  2. Tap on the Main Menu option.

  5. Press on Reset All Settings.
