Solution #1 Check The Power Or Gas Supply

Check The Electrical Dryer Power Voltage:
- Use a Multimeter and test the voltage from a power outlet.
- The AC line has to show 240V for proper operation.
- Then, access the back of the dryer to test the voltage from the appliance as well.
- Unscrew the dryer back terminal and a metal plate to get access to the dryer legs.
- First, check the right leg via a multimeter and then the left one.
- Also, make sure to note down the voltage of both legs.
Once you have done this, then check whether your dryer outlet and the dryer legs have the same 240V power.

- If there is no continuity, then simply replace the thermal fuse in your dryer.
- Lastly, connect the wires harness back to the fuse screw of the rear access panel.
After replacing the thermal fuse in the dryer, plug the dryer into an outlet and test the heating!
Solution #5 Inspect Limit Thermostat
The limit thermostat is also responsible for the control of heat in the dryer but when it gets faulty it erroneously assumes that the dryer is overheating even though it is not.
Next, it sends a signal to the main board to stop heating the dryer and the culprit is typically in the Limit Switch!
Here is how to inspect the limit thermostat on the Amana dryer:
- First, make sure the Amana dryer is unplugged from the power.
- Next, unscrew the dryer Rear Access Panel from the back.
- Locate the High Limit thermostat in the assembly.
- Disconnect the wire harness from it to take it out of the dryer.
- Test the switch via Multimeter for continuity.

- Lastly, connect the wire harness and rear panel back.
With the new limit switch, the Amana dryer should be getting hot pretty quickly and be able to work for hours without interruption.

Solution #6 Check the Gas Valve Solenoid
Amana dryers have gas valve solenoids that’ll help the igniter to glow to provide heating from the valve to the overall dryer.
If your dryer is still not heating up, it’s possible that either the solenoid coils or another component of your device have failed, thus the igniter is not working.
Note: You have to replace both solenoid coils even if only one has gone bad!

- Make sure to unplug your dryer from the Power Outlet.
- Next, unscrew the back panel of your dryer.
- Disconnect the wires from the right panel and note down the wire’s orientation.
- Remove the heating element from the dryer and test it via a Multimeter.
If there is no continuity on the meter for the heating element, then replace it and securely reassemble all the components.
