2. Perform a Door Handing Process!

You simply need to repeat the door-handing process on your lock to properly unstick it.

Here is how to perform a door-handing process on Kwikset smart lock:

  1. Take out the smart lock battery cover.
  2. Remove the battery pack from the lock.
  3. Press and then hold the Lock button.
  4. Tip: It’s located on the smart lock keypad.
  5. While holding, reinsert the battery pack.
  6. Then release the Lock button.
  7. Reinstall the battery cover back.
  8. Again, press the Lock button once more.
  9. The lock will go through the door-handling.

  2. Check the bolt to see if it is aligned with the strike plate.

You can reset the lock by pressing the button “A”, located on the back panel for 20 seconds!

Alert: Keep in mind that the factory reset process removes all in-app settings so everything in regard to the setup must be re-done from scratch!
