Here is how to refresh and optimize the WiFi connection:

  1. First, reboot the network (WiFi) router.
  2. Unplug it from power for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the router into a power outlet.
  4. On your mobile, open the WiFi settings.
  5. Forget from the currently connected network.
  6. Restart your device and connect to the WiFi.
  7. Then, try to connect the Geeni device.

2. Soft-Reset The Geeni Setup!

All instances included in the Geeni setup are prone to bugs and glitches that may interfere with communication.

It is also possible that any of the aspects including the WiFi router, mobile, app, and Geeni device, may be having a system or technical issue that requires a refresh!

Restart Mobile or Tablet: 

  1. Locate the Power button on the device.
  2. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds.
  3. Slide on the Restart slider from the screen!

Turn off the device power > Wait for 2 minutes > Turn on the power.

Force Stop Geeni App:

  1. On your mobile go to Settings.
  2. Tap on App Management.
  3. Look for the Geeni app from the apps list.
  4. Tap the Geeni app.
  5. Tap on the Force Stop.
  6. Tap on the Force Stop to confirm the action.
  7. Tap on the Home.
  8. Relaunch the Geeni app.
  9. Test the app by trying to connect.

3. Setup The Geeni Device Via AP mode!

This can happen by toggling off a feature called “Smart Connect” in your router’s control panel.

A timeout can occur if the app is unable to communicate with the Geeni server, which can happen due to planned or unplanned maintenance (outage).

To determine whether the server is currently online or not, you’re going to need to check its status.

The only way to check the Geeni server status is by contacting a representative on chat and asking for locational outages.

8. Check Geeni App Permissions

It’s important to check the Geeni app permissions because any required permissions such as device Location, Bluetooth, and Network have to be enabled.

The app needs access to that information for essential services to work so it’s mandatory to enable them.

  2. Go to Play Store or App Store.
  3. Enter the Geeni app in the search bar.
