We suggest connecting your Bulb to the internet, the right way.
In case your Bulb is attempting to connect to a (bad) WiFi that was previously used, it might result in a big offline time as long as the WiFi is not good.
Here’s how to reconnect your Wyze bulb to only 1 WiFi network:
- Open the Wyze app on your smartphone.
- Turn the lights on/off 3 times and wait for the prompt on your phone.
- Tap on “Next” once the bulb appears in the Wyze app.
- Forget ALL current WiFi connections.
- Choose your household’s WiFi and enter the password correctly.
- Complete the rest of the prompts.
Important: You must make sure that you’re choosing the correct network as well as typing the appropriate password for that WiFi.
Wyze devices CAN NOT be connected to 5GHz networks.
In case you’re attempting to hook up the bulb to a 5Ghz network, or your 2.4Ghz WiFi is too far away, you will definitely experience downtime (offline).
In that regard, it’s extremely important to make sure that you’re using a 2.4Ghz network as well as that the WiFi is reliable and does not go through outages.
If your router doesn’t have a 2.4GHz network, here’s how to create one:
- Get on your PC or laptop.
- In the Windows task field, write “CMD”.
- In the new window, type “ipconfig”.
- Copy the default gateway and paste it into your browser.

Here are some quick ways to troubleshoot your network:
A. Power cycle router
Perform a power cycle on your network router or modem by unplugging it for 5 minutes from the power source.
B. Fix weak WiFi
Prevent high-data downloading or uploading and stop any seeding you’re doing online.
C. Call your ISP
In case there is a problem with your internet, the best way to solve the problem is by reaching out to your internet service provider.

Here is how to factory reset your bulb:
- Ensure your light bulb is securely attached to the light slot again.
- Turn the light on/off 3 times.
- Wait for the slow pulsing blinking of your bulb’s LED and go to your Wyze app.
- Complete the setup process with the instructions from Solution #1.
Note: Resetting your bulb will cause you to go through the setup process again and establish the device’s settings again.
As we’ve mentioned above, if your Wyze bulb loses power, it would also disconnect from the current network.
That also applies to power outages and other electricity fluctuations either of the whole household or the room the bulb is located in.
After a power outage, the electricity reaching your household might be weaker for a certain amount of time.
Test any regular light bulbs in your household. If they flicker when turned ON, make sure to wait at least 30 minutes and then test again.
